Is it possible to arrive on weekend?
No, our office is closed on Saturday, on Sunday and on holidays. You can pick up the key from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 20:00

CLIENT
If I am a visitor professor, How can I make the reservation?
All reservation of visitor professors should be done through the inviting department of our University. You cannot make the reservation directly to Vila Universitaria.

DEPOSITS
If I cancel my reservation will I lose my deposit?
Once confirmed your reservation, if you cancel it by academic reasons we give the deposit back to you, but if the cancellation is for personal reasons, or own convenience you lose the deposit.
How can I pay the deposit if I do not have credit card?
You can make a bank transfer to our bank account. You always must pass the bank receipt by fax. In the bank transference it must indicate your name, the date and the amount.

RENT
Can I pay the rent with credit card or cash?
It is not possible. In order to pay your rent you must open a current account in a Spanish bank since we will charge it with all the expenses of your appartment (rent, expenses of water, electricity, telephone…).

CONTRACT
Can I cancel my contract without losing my deposits?
No. We ONLY give your deposit back if the cancellation is by academic reasons.
With which antelation must I cancel my contract?
You always must tell to reception as soon as possible but at least you must tell us 15 days before your contract ends (always 15 days before the 1st and 15th oh each month)
Can I stay in vila in Christmas holidays, Easter and in summer?
You can live in Vila all year. Vila Universitaria never close.

EQUIPMENT
What kind of things are in the equipment?
The equipment have kitchen utensils, linen, towels and blankets.
What are community expenses?
The community expenses are all the expenses in your community, like cleaning common areas, security 24 hours, swimming pool, gardening, elevators …
Are there restaurants ? How much does a menu cost?
In Vila Universitaria there are two restaurants. Each meal costs about 10 euros.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Wich students can obtain a place off campus?
The students with exchange program as Erasmus, Mobility, Sicue, Séneca, Post-graduate and professors, all of them should have an obligatory link with UAB.
In wich towns are situated the appartments?
In Barcelona, in Sant Cugat del Vallès, in Cerdanyola del Vallès, Bellaterra, in Sant Quirze del Vallés and in Sabadell. All of them very near of our University and well comunicated.
What cities are more asked for? Why?
Barcelona is the most required city due to its touristic aspects. There are also al lot of discos, pubs, bars, restaurants, theaters, shops, etc.
Cerdanyola is also required because it is the nearest town from UAB.

TO MAKE THE RESERVATION
What requirements do I need in order to obtain a place off Campus?
- To fill the aplication form
- A document proving the acceptance in an exchange or postgraduate program of Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.
Which is the minimum stay in the flats?
The minimun stay is 3 months. In case you want to extend your stay, you should consult the owner.
Can I rent a complete appartment?
Vila Universitaria only offers places, not complete appartments. Places can be in single rooms or double rooms.
Do you send us an adress list with telephon numbers in order to contact the owners?
No, we assign you one place in an appartment with the characteristics you point in your application form.
How can I make sure, that the reservation is already done?
We will send you a mail with the address and telephone to contact to the owner in order to confirm the booking. We will explain the characteristics of the flat in the same mail. When you contact him, you should let him know your planned stay and your check out date.
Must I share the appartment ?
You can share the appartment with another Erasmus students, or with the owners (students or families).

RENT AND DEPOSITS
Do you make any type of contract?
Vila Universitaria will not sign any contract with you because we are just mediators. In case you want a contract you should contact the owner.
How do you decide the price of the appartments?
The price is always related to the town , the district, the appartment type, and the room type (single or double). It is always the owner who decide the price, taking care of all aspects.
What does a deposit mean?
The deposit is an amount of money that you have to pay in order to confirm your reservation. The owners will demand you a deposit equivalent to one or two months.
Some owners can contact you in order to ask for a bank transfer before your arrival date. This deposit will refund you when you leave the appartment. In case you leave before your contract ends this deposit may not refund you.
Who is the person I should pay the rent?
You should pay the rent to the owner. Vila is a mediator and we only contact the owners and the students in order to make the reservation.

APPARTMENT
Are all the appartments furnished?
All appartments are furnished, with a bed, wardrobe, desk, etc. Some of them have appliances, like washing machine or dishwasher.
Are all expenses included in the rent?
It does not depend on us, it depends on the owner. There are some owners that include all the expenses in the rent.
